Oberlin, OH – Coach Pete’s Academic Elite Great Lakes camp was held Saturday, September 8 – Sunday, September 9 at Oberlin University. Prospects from all over the Great Lakes region were in attendance and Area Codes Basketball was there to evaluate them. Here are a couple that stood out. Their evaluations along with links to their highlight videos (click the name) can be found below in no particular order:
6’2” Shammah Scott (Shaker Heights, OH – Shaker Heights HS 2020) – One of the best players in attendance, Shammah Scott showed that he can contribute to his team in many different ways. Not only could he shoot from almost any spot on the court, but this junior consistently found the open man and finished at the rim in traffic. He knocked down 11 threes during camp. This is another kid that is going to get attention from college coaches.
6’7” Enavell Lighty (Shaker Heights, OH – Shaker Heights HS 2021) – It is easy to see that Lighty has crazy athleticism. Throughout camp he showed his ability to play above the rim, block shots and finish in the paint. He’s still young, but programs should definitely be looking at this Shaker Heights product because he comes with strong upside all around.
Atlanta, GA – Coach Pete’s Academic Elite Southeast camp was held on Saturday, September 29 – Sunday, September 30 at Oglethorpe University. It was another great showing for this camp as it attracted prospects from all over the Southeast. Area Codes Basketball was there to evaluate these prospects and there were 3 that caught our eye. Their evaluations along with links to their highlight videos (click the name) can be found below in no particular order:
5’11” Kellen Walker (Grayson, GA – Archer HS 2020) – Walker had active hands all camp long, collecting 10 steals (third most in camp). A high academic player (3.8 GPA), Walker has an ability to finish at the rim with either hand. This guard also had 29 rebounds, one of the highest totals among the backcourt players.
6’3″ Bryce Bristow (Plano, TX – Plano Senior HS 2020) – This Plano, TX product came to Georgia and did not disappoint! Bristow is an athlete who can play above rim and finish in the paint. He has good length and finished over 50% from inside the arc. Not only does he get the job done on the court, but he takes care of business in the classroom as well with a 3.6 GPA.
6’4″ Dalian Wilson II (Aurora, CO – Gateway HS 2020) – Another player who made the out-of-state trip, Wilson II, a Colorado product, is a STRONG, inside presence. He pulled down 30 rebounds and shot over 50% during camp. He backed down and muscled past defenders and was able to find ways to get open for layups. Strong on the court and in the classroom, Wilson II has a 3.5 GPA.
